The magnitude 4.4 earthquake that struck near Westwood is the most significant shake in Southern California since a 5.5 earthquake hit Chino Hills in 2008, a U.S. Geological Survey seismologist told reporters at a news conference Monday morning.
Robert Graves said there have been at least six aftershocks since the 6:25 a.m. earthquake. The largest so far has been a magnitude 2.7 earthquake that struck five miles northwest of Westwood.

Thanks for the reply....not a fun experience.
HA HA!..... I’m sorry....brain freeze moment!
‘s OK. Fresno is in the central valley, east of the San Andreas fault, no? Chances are you’ll still be with us, and with beachfront property.
Just have to watch out for whole that Lassen-Mono-Inyo volcanic thing...
Thanks.,
Not pretty is it?
There has been a lot of noise on Low frequency lately, let’s hope it is just indigestion.
or....it could be a yawn, signifying nothing...

Well, maybe you could get on the side that won’t fall into the ocean and give that other side a really big push.
You couldn't possibly mean San Francisco?
Every earthquake is both a foreshock and an aftershock.
This is why I stayed in Fresno. When the present coast falls into the Pacific Ocean, I will have beach front retirement property, and I like to surf!
I was all the way down in Tustin during Northridge, and it was LOUD there, too.
maybe the big one will break CA off the US.
I lived in Chile for over 5-years...amazing how worked up everyone in Calif gets when there is a little 4.4M bump.
I recall a 6.8 in La Serena, Chile...when the books started falling off the shelves, I walked out my office door and was amazed at my Toyota pickup truck bouncing all over the place and our 60-foot radio antennae looking like a buggy whip.
There was seldom a week that went by that we didn’t feel a quake. We used to have an office pool where we would estimate the magnetude with the closest guess winning a couple of bottles of wine.
has it been blamed on global warming yet?
“So true I just look at the Donation page each quarter and California is ALWAYS at the top.”
Yup. I don’t even see those red states that are supposed to be conservative heaven beating our state. Damn guys, don’t make me defend mexifornia LOL
“No problem, lets hope the New Mexican drought lasts another 40 years after being struck by a 1/8 mile wide asteroid.”
As long as the asteroid hits the imported liberal-infested Sante Fe, I’m all good with that.
