When the Mrs. and I were married back in 1984, we got a great rate on a Ryder truck rental from her home in east Los Angeles County to my home in North Dakota because everyone was fleeing North Dakota in those days for warmer climates.

There was a severe shortage of trucks in North Dakota for people wanting to move out.

Funny how much things have changed since then . . .

When I lived in Flint, Mich. there was a LONG waiting list at Ryder for people who wanted trucks and trailers to move out.

And the outbound rate was about three or four times the inbound.
