No. The radar transponder would have to squawk the assigned code or ATC would have known immediately the transponder was not reporting.
The other "black boxes" you refer to on this plane, do a myriad of things but most are passive collectors of data except the ELT.
The ELT would only be activated by crash or contact with water but not transmit in normal flight.
Or maybe they "use enough dynamite there Butch?" and took the complete nose off the aircraft. And unlike Flight 800, it flew straight and level for hours.

Malaysian Air Force was first to say they tracked the plane.....then they retracted that......then said it was true.

The military version of that is called IFF IIRC- Identification Friend or Foe. But then I'm an ol' Squid, whaddo I know?

I recall a comparable incident some years back when an Iranian passenger plane was shot down. IIRC, the justification amounted to “sorry, but sucks to look like something you know we’d like to shoot down.” Details escape me; surely a K.o.O.K.S member can refresh my memory.

I think it just simply got shot down by somebodies military over there.
If they’re deliberately blowing doors off an airplane in flight, they’re not concerned about transponders continuing to function.
Kinda like trying shooting the driver of a bus, and still being concerned about removing the license plate.
The facts all point to an intentional act. The pilot's wife moving out one day prior points to his possible state of mind and he might have felt he had nothing to live for with his children taken away by his wife, OR....
Are we sure his wife and 3 kids MOVED OUT, or were they KIDNAPPED BY TERRORISTS who ordered Zaharie to fly somewhere or else they'd all be killed???? Would Malaysia talk about this??? Probably NOT, for fear of jeopardizing the wife and kids' lives.
There have been reports that the plane climbed to 45,000 feet. According to other posts on previous threads at this altitude the loss of air from the main cabin would put everyone to sleep in about 8 minutes. They would be dead from lack of O2 in about 15-20 minutes. Problem solved.
Pitching the nose up rapidly can make it extremely difficult for passengers to get to cabin. Taking it to 45,000 ft. for only a few minutes can kill the passengers from depressurization.
Uh...the "cocpit door" is inside the plane, between the passengers and the pilots.

With Russia in Crimea, Obama wanted to send a message to China. One of our laser weapons that is classified shot out the planes electronics. The plane simpky shut down and nosedived into the sea. That’s why the cell phones stopped working.
Go ahead China, make a move. We will destroy the electronics on every weapon you own.
I truly wish there was this much concern about what happened when the Pentagon was hit or when Bldg 7 fell. Everyone appears to have their priorities in the wrong order. We’re losing America and everyone is worried about an foreign airliner full of Chinese.
Just my opinion, worth what you paid for it.
