European imports of Russian oil aren't the problem -- they're generally replaceable. It's natural gas that's the problem.
And, despite an ample (and growing) supply of natural gas, we're not in a position to supply Europe...yet. To do that, we need a fleet of LNG tankers and some LNG terminals where they can be loaded (currently, we have none).
Sounds like an opportunity to put a lot of people back to work.
Of course, it makes too much sense for our politicians.
