This reminds me of a thread I saw here on Free Republic a couple of years ago.
Apparently there was a bank robbery in Aurora, Colorado, and the robber was believed to be driving on a street in that city shortly after the robbery.
The police stopped traffic and ordered the occupants of each vehicle, one vehicle at a time, to get out at gunpoint with their hands up and then sit on the curb.
The thread on Free Republic had a picture of a young guy exiting his vehicle with his hands up, while the jack boots pointed a shotgun or semi-automatic rifle at him. Welcome to Amerika!
They did warrantless house searches in Boston with no problem, why does anyone think they are exempt in their cars anywhere...
behold, the illusion of freedom.
There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery. Then look around and see somebody White and feel relieved.

Testing... Testing... Test the sheep...
Preaching to the wrong choir there are a number of Boston FReepers who love warrantless searchers and having police in full tach gear with big armored vehicles going door to door it made them feel so ‘safe’ after the Boston bombing.
Police caught the three robbers, whose names have not been released, in the backed-up traffic not long after the robbery at a Rockville Wells Fargo branch, Montgomery County police say.
Police say two men armed with handguns robbed the bank at 404 King Farm Blvd. about 10 a.m. They fled in silver Kia SUV, driven by a third person, with the stolen cash.
A Prince George's County police helicopter spotted the SUV traveling south along I-270 a short time later. Police shut down the interstate in order to nab the robbers, who were found stopped in traffic just south of Tuckerman Lane, according to Montgomery County police.
Police found a gun used in the robbery inside the car. And the money taken in the robbery was found in a dump truck that had been traveling near the SUV. Police believe the robbers ditched the cash once they realized police were nearby.
The interstate was shut down in both directions for about 30 minutes while police hunted for the robbers. Motorists stuck in traffic tweeted that police were walking among the stopped vehicles with their weapons drawn.
Northbound lanes reopened about 10:50 a.m. and some southbound traffic began moving a short time later. All lanes were clear by 11:40 a.m.

If the police shut down the highway and search every vehicle for fugitives do they require a warrant?
The police have become a hostile occupation force.
WElcome to the machine.
