I recall DiFi initial foray into Bay Area politics around 1967-69 era. I thought then she had the demeanor of a conservative in a room full of radicals, and was lackluster in the extreme.

But, somehow, she just kept on winning... Must've had some big bucks behind her.

Which "Bay Area"?

And if readers are supposed to know that, why so imprecise on the location?

Were they expecting protestors, or party crashers, or were they too embarassed about the whole thing?

They announced that they want to “rebuild the party” and that they need to stop “pandering”.

California republican carries much the same meaning as northeastern republican. Democrat light, looking on the TEA movement as an enemy.

The people who are leaving California, individuals and businesses alike, are those who would very likely support a true republican in the Reagan or Goldwater mold. With a severely depleted base, california republicans will find themselves facing the prospect of campaigning among democrats, acknowledging the “changing demographics of voting,” and just giving up to become blatant, instead of closeted, liberals. It’s becoming apparent that what’s left of the states GOP will just end up becoming mired in “outreach,” growing the “big tent,” and shadowing the liberalism of democrats, just as they’ve done in the last several presidential elections.

BURLINGAME - Republican gubernatorial candidate Tim Donnelly said Saturday that the California Republican Party needs to “reconnect with the church,” rallying conservative activists in his primary contest with Neel Kashkari.

Neel Kashkari, a former U.S. Treasury Department official, is preferred by many members of the party’s donor and professional class for his more moderate social views.

She's a lifer in govt jobs and hubby #3 is a very wealthy investment banker.

Here's a fun quote from Wiki:

Her 347-page financial-disclosure statement – characterized by the San Francisco Chronicle as "nearly the size of a phone book"
