Seems to me this is the perfect crime with coverups and ‘look the other ways’ all along the way.

This is well planned out with red herrings being tossed everywhere.

Perfect crime ... Don't know yet for me. If this was the perfect crime though there is presently a worldwide ongoing criminal investigation meaning the outcome is in doubt. Well planned ... am not sure but there appears to have been planning and many to quote you 'look the other ways'. Red herrings ... yes full agreement and the red herrings are a puzzlement. Clues have been all over the map just as the plane could be by now.
