Oh yeah, a lady can push a button.
But if Murphy is active in the vicinity and everybody has to get out and walk (or run, or fight their way home), she's going to be a hand-wringing liability.

Armor isn't something that you just turn the key and drive, it takes muscle to arm and maintain, load and operate, tracked vehicles, especially where there are no roads and under war conditions.
