LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Former Manson Family member Bruce Davis, who was sentenced to life in prison for two 1969 murders carried out with other members of the cult, was granted parole on Wednesday by a California parole board, although it was not certain he would be freed.
Davis' parole must still be affirmed by California Governor Jerry Brown, who reversed a similar decision by the same board last year, saying that the 71-year-old convicted killer remained a danger to the public.

Leave him in until he assumes room temperature.
This is why you execute convicted murderers. Always. Quickly.
Moonbeam will let him out this time?
Wonder how often Mr. Davis has looked back on his life and wondered “what the hell was I thinking”? Wasted life.
Is this the guy who is a born again Christian now?
Moonbeam will let him out this time?
He became a born again Christian, joined a ministry, met and married a woman in that ministry, had a now-adult daughter with her, and divorces her in the last 40 years in prison.
Are born again Christians a big Obama voting block?
They should never let these killers out
I bet they won’t. No one wants to let them out. Even groups that want practically all prisoners out aren’t going to waste their good will on the Manson people.
WOW! Talk about a misshapen life. He became a born again Christian, met a married woman and had a daughter. Was the daughter by the married women? Was she divorced when the blessed event happened?
Not sounding like a Christian like life to me.
By the way, the heading says he is 71, but the article says he is 79?
I would just assume any murderer would be an Obama voting block
California where a life sentence only applies to the victims, he, Manson and the rest should have been fried. Damn Brown and Bird to hell!
It is kind of weird that he met, married, had a chils with, and then divorced a woman all while in prison.
It is Manson, not this guy, who is now 79. Yep, ole Charlie has lived a long and pleasant life at the expense of the CA taxpayers. I don't think being in prison has bothered that weird little freak in the slightest.
Manson was originally sentenced to death for the murder spree that horrified the nation in the late 1960s but was spared execution after the California Supreme Court declared the death penalty unconstitutional in 1972.
My bad, I read to fast. My first read left me with the impression that he met a married women and married her. I apologize.
Can't vote until the probation is discharged ... then again, since we have virtually no checks in California to see if someone is eligible to vote, nothing stops him from voting for a rat.
You gotta be kidding!
I cannot picture Manson’s crew of doper rodents practicing safe sex.
Have wondered for years if their are infants buried at one of his hideouts. Speculated on this with my wife but have never seen any public questioning of the possibility.
