When I worked in China 38 years ago, my interpreter was a magnificent philharmonic concert violinist. The State said “No you’re not. You’re now an interpreter” and, et voilà, he was an interpreter.

The State can wish anything it wants into existence. It knows what is best for us.

The regime would certainly like to be able to order the doctors around, but it has a ways to go yet.
