From what I know of that area the Israelis, Jews, and Arabs have been fighting over that land since there WERE Jews and Arabs.

That war will end on the LAST day of human existence when God ends it, once and for all. Until then, they continue to battle.

Its NOT all a battlefield. The Israelis have huge farms, stores and such and there are NOT enough Jewish Israelis to man all the work force so they HAVE to hire Muslim Palestinian Arabs to work for them.

It's mutually beneficial and, after time, the two sides become reconciled with working together. I saw it in 2011 when I visited there.
Our final local guide was a rather large, fat Palestinian Arab Catholic. (!!) Talk about being behind the 8-ball. Interesting guy. Of course he spoke Hebrew, Arabic and English.
