I don't know if I believe those numbers. I think that Hargitay has been doing LAW & ORDER so long that she is beginning to believe what the scriptwriters put forth as facts, when they may NOT be facts.
It SEEMS to me that she DOES have an agenda. Maybe I'm wrong.
It would be interesting to know how many women/girls recant their allegations of rape.
This is the number from all across the country during a thirty year time span. Not such an astonishing number taken in context.

Do you feel that the rape kits are filled with facts or disinformation?
It is also very interesting to find out how many rapes are NEVER reported because the women get humiliated by the authorities.
I would bet that over 50% of today’s cases are not reported for that reason alone, and in years past, the % was much higher.
