Exactly, in the modern era with all of the communications, ATC radar, the avionics etc and with spy satellites, search planes, and all other equipment, how does this plane elude the world for a week?

Thats the big mystery. But if one of the pilots decided to turn all the transponders off, take a left turn, and fly off into the middle of the Indian Ocean.... good luck finding it. Its and awful big ocean. Thats my guess by the way (if i have to make one). One pilot incapacitates the other, and off into the wild blue yonder they go.

Good point. I'm betting the powers that be know a lot more and aren't telling us. Is it because it was really hijacked, they know where the plane is, and they're keeping it quiet while they close in. Hope springs eternal. I hope those passengers are still alive.
