In an interview with the Daily Beast, living legend and Oscar-winner Robert Duvall blasted the Civil Rights film "The Butler" as "very inaccurate." The 83 year-old star added, "JFK had one of the worst Civil Rights voting records," and "All the atrocities in the South were committed by the Democratic Party."

How about Open Range?
Plenty of Duval movies. Here’s another.....the part of
Boo Radley in ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ w/Gregory Peck.
Absolute classic movie!
Best line in the movie:
Shortly after the death of the two brothers (killed when trying to fly their homebuilt biplane THROUGH the barn.... upside down), the son of their Arab adversary lands at the old house in his private/Corporate helicopter (Sikorsky S-76, IIRC), with his young son in tow.
The now-adult Walter meets them and the rich Arab introduces his son to Walter, “the nephew of the men about whom grandfather told all those stories”.
The grandson says, “You mean they really lived?”
Water replies, “Oh yeah, they REALLY lived!”
I love that movie!
Did you ever see the alternate ending at YouTube?
Well, that might be up to the media, too. For all we know, they interviewed him several months ago and are now just showing it, or he asked for the interview several months ago and are now just doing it.
I do not trust the media and trust them far less than Robert Duval.
True Grit with the great John Wayne. Duval was Ned Pepper.
The Big Lie will overwhelm the facts. The left is rewriting history on a gigantic scale and they are being successful. Most people already believe JFK was a great civil rights hero.
I think that show is great too. I was pleasantly surprised when I first saw it.
Thanks Robert Duvall for standing up and going against the Hollywood grain.
Wonder if that’s in the Common Core curriculum.
I wish they’d put Open Range on Netflix.
excellent scene, I thought it demonstrated his love for the boy, even though he’d never use words to say it.
John Hope Franklin never addressed the selling of slaves by African Negroes. Most of his “black” history is bunk.
Secondhand Lions
I didn’t read all the comments here to see if anyone mentioned this... but did anyone see Duvall on Jimmy Kimmel last night? Rooster McConaughay, Matt’s bro, was with him. He’s hilarious...a gun slinging, cigar smoking redneck.
That’s because I haven’t seen Lonesome Dove, but I know I should.
Open Range is a pretty good Kevin Costner western. Annette Bening(Mrs. Warren Beatty) and Diego Luna are also in it.
I hesitate to mention Slingblade, but I think Robert Duvall played the dad.
One of my favorite Duvall scenes is in in the Godfather when he is listening at the door where Sonny is seducing a bridesmaid.
He also did a credible job playing Stalin.
I respect him even more now
God bless him
That settles it
I am buying that Gus McRae signed still on eBay for my foyer
I also liked the diner scene where Duvall shows the punk how to hold the knife properly, right before the punk gets taught a lesson.
