She is an outspoken and militant homosexual. If you criticize her, you may also be accused of Anti-Semitism because despite her ballot name (Irish names poll well) Cassidy practices Judaism. She is loud and strident.
What makes this all too bizarre is that the Federal Courts recently compelled Illinois to enact new laws relaxing gun ownership requirements and permitting Concealed Carry permits. Despite the court order, Cassidy has continually voted against gun rights even when doing so may have been in contempt of the Circuit Court of Appeals.
It is instructive that Cassidy who has constantly championed a heretofore undisclosed constitutional right to same sex marriage (premised on a penumbra perhaps) is forthright in her opposition to gun rights which are clearly in the text of the US Constitution.
Sadly, the Democrats place Cassidy in a safe district that reliably elects Democrats without question. I seriously doubt many of the voters in her district even know who she is or how far out of the mainstream she is. The voters in this district would elect a lamp post if it were on the ballot as a Democratic candidate.
