Welcome to Obamaville, where everyone who is not a member of the ruling class (and their rich donors) is equally screwed.
Another ObamaCare success story.
“If you like your middle-class, you can keep it.”
Get ready to be audited also for speaking out. Being self-employed, they will probably go thru this man’s receipts with a fine-toothed comb. God help this man and his family. We should all pray for them.
Fortunately, life is a mist.
This is where I am not sympathetic. This is part of what I like about America. You can chose or not chose to have insurance and he chose not too. However, with that choice comes a responsibility for you to pay the hospital bills. I believe that he wanted to pay the annual “tax” rather then pay 500 dollars a month towards insurance. Well that is his choice and I respect his decision, but for him to turn around and cry about it is not very adult.
should have renounced his citizenship and said he was here illegally.
Remember the “Mitt Romney let my wife die.” commercial? I would make this, and other stories like this, a commercial to to aired nationally. Before Obamacare this man was covered and protected from medical disaster. This couple did the right thing and paid to be insured. Obamacare RUINED everything for them.
My insurance agent got us insurance that is actually cheaper....not sure how that works, but I didn’t even get a bill when I went to see the dermatologist. No co-pay, no nothing. Strange. And, we’ve got a $12/month prescription drug plan - only problem is I think I have to go to Walmart....but will see if it works at Walgreen’s.
In this guy’s case sounds like he might end up broke enough to qualify for a “subsidy”. I hate that word - it’s really stealing from your neighbor who isn’t broke yet.
You mean the one where they later uncovered that the man was a Dem operative? Yes, I'd say turnabout is definitely fair play.
But he did have insurance. He couldn’t afford obamacare.
What if their budget just couldn’t allow it?
That's not the point. THEY HAD HEALTH INSURANCE until Obamacare caused them to lose coverage for him. Perhaps they didn't have the extra 500 bucks to pay for the "new" coverage they were forced to pay for. This mess was created because of mandates forced on Citizens and Insurance Companies by the Democrat Party. Harry Ried, You listening you little weasel?
I have more sympathy. He had a choice years ago and chose insurance at what he considered reasonable rates. Obama stepped in with an act of supreme evil that got his old insurance cancelled, which forced him into a second choice this year. He chose unwisely this time, but I feel sorry for him because he should not have been put into that position merely for the benefit of big business and the crooks in government who respond to their bribes.
This month, for the first time ever, I’m unable to make my mortgage payment. I therefore am “choosing” not to pay for ObamaCare, if any rational person could call that a choice.
“Go home. Take a pill.”
According to the President, they should have gotten rid of their phones and cable service.
Wouldn't help out the poor guy much, as he needs his phone (he's self-employed).
Here's one more angle: to pay that extra $500/month in after-tax dollars, he'd have to earn roughly $900 in pre-tax dollars, as he has to pay both sides of SS tax in addition to income tax.
I’m sorry to hear about your mortgage; Obama has done a lot of damage in five years.
In other words, not high income enough to afford Obamacare and not low income enough to qualify for Medicaid.
They got screwed over twice. They couldn’t keep their existing health insurance.
Obamacare is generating a lot of losers like this couple and the Democrats will pay heavily for it come November.
Obamacare trashed a system that worked well for most people and replaced it with one that leaves most people facing financial bankruptcy.
Gotta love how it improved health care in this country by increasing people’s risk with getting stuck with hospital bills they could never pay back.
And the Democrats keep telling us Obamacare can be saved. Uh huh.
