A lot of that had to do with her residency status and whether or not Judd was actually able to run "legally" in the commonwealth. It had little to do with her ideology or positions - which given McConnell's record - is one that will eviscerate Conservatives, and treat with kid gloves - the actual Democrat ideology and positions.
McConnell keeps insisting HE has tried to stop Obama "all the way", that HE opposed the debt hike, the TARP bailout, and stopped Obama's war on coal. Like everything: he's so full of crap it's oozing out of his shell. He's done nothing but play games - to create illusions of his 'KY Conservative values'. He's a D.C. hack that would rather shine Obama's shoes and funnel money into his war chest than actually lead
The McConnell machine is really the Democrat machine in this state. They would rather lose the seat to an Obama stooge Marxist than allow a Conservative to fill it. McConnell has been waging a shameless and personal war on Bevin for a year now - and he's not letting up.
If McConnell was really as much a Dem stooge/enabler as people claim, wouldn’t he have worked just as hard to hand the seat now held by Rand Paul to them a cycle ago?
I mean, I know that he tried to undermine Paul (which was dumb) but if McConnell wanted to keep the Senate in Dem hands he could have destroyed Paul pretty easily.
Listen, I’m not saying that there aren’t a lot of good reasons to oppose McConnell. And I’m certainly not endorsing him as the guy I really want. But I’m trying to be strategic here following heartbreaking losses in IN, MO, DE and NV over the last few cycles. And I’m seeing a of ill considered if not irrational and completely short sighted arguments being put forward by folks I have a good deal of respect for (but also high expectations of)
