Russia's move into part of Ukraine has caused genuine unease in neighbouring countries like Poland and the three Baltic states and a sense that they also are under threat.
Poland's leaders have played down the danger, repeatedly reassuring the public.
During an event to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Poland joining Nato on Monday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said he saw no direct threat to his country, a view echoed by Poland's President Bronislaw Komorowski.
But there is a widespread sense of insecurity in Poland. In an opinion poll last week, 59% of respondents believed Russia's foreign policy presented a threat to Poland's security.

BTW, Poland is dependent on Russia for 70% of its energy needs. Of course, they could stop buying fuel and freeze to death, it’s their absolute right.

If the US (a.k.a. NATO) want to play war games in Poland, in order to impress Russia, they will be badly disappointed.
Russia is not to be bullied like Libya, Yemen or Kosovo were.
What the hell do the US want? A nuclear war in Europe? Just take your flying toys home and reinstate the Monroe doctrine. Each in his own backyard. NATO is a Cold War instrument, which has no more reason to exist.

There was an era when Russia headed a huge empire. Did this make them happy?
Modern commerce has, at least, gotten them to simmer down some. Being a major oil power helps.
