I know the guy is lucky to be alive, but I have never seen anything in the Bible that says there is anything wrong with boarding an aircraft on the Sabbath.
The rescheduled passenger in indeed a very lucky man. I’m not sure I would go so far as to call it a miracle that he is alive and 230 other people are [probably] dead.

I know a lot of people who had a very close one back in 1985.
A large group of 2nd year folks were at training for Price Waterhouse at Inverrary Conference Center in Florida, located near Ft Lauderdale.
On Aug 2, 1985, the last day of training, a bus picked up several dozen people from our Dallas, Ft Worth, and OK City offices to take them to the airport. The bus driver got his signals crossed and started taking them to the Miami airport.
The passengers finally caught on and made the bus driver turn around and take them to the Ft Lauderdale airport, but they arrived too late to catch their plane.
Many were still in the airport when the word came through about their missed Delta Air Lines Flight 191.
Two other PW colleagues, in FtL for other reasons, made decisions about that flight that day. One decided to fly back early and took the same flight on Thursday, so she lived. The other decided to take an earlier flight out of FtL and caught 191. I recognized his full(unusual) last name that he didn’t go by on the list of those killed and called the San Antonio office to let them know, since no one there knew he’d taken an earlier flight)
