They could get more votes by taking stands against idiocy like this. I would rather fix the problem than btch about it. Oh, I believe that!
The problem though is that they don't. In fact, I would venture to say that they are the ultimate conservative (in the sense they wish to preserve the status quo) they'd be much happier just "stopping" everything and living in their current comfort than risking anything.

Quite so! I just pointed out to ansel12 that “conservatism” can become VERY navel-gazing. And this fights God. And it’s like the answer is la la la la, I can’t hear you.
