Dad interested me in Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, the Dorseys and others....never was interested in ‘crooners’ like Sinatra, Crosby etc. After Sinatra died I appreciated him more...except when he coo coo cachoo’d/Scooby dood Mrs Robinson and other modern songs that made him sound so lame.
Paganini....wasn’t that the pronunciation joke about ‘Page nine’.
Sinatra singing slow ballads is just annoying, as is Elvis, and a lot of those country singers. They just about killed the music business in the late ‘50s and early ‘60s. Then along came the British groups and the Beach Boys reviving the energetic combo sound like jazz was before the big bands took over.
