MH370 detected above Malacca Straits at 2.40am

The search for Malaysian Airlines MH307 plane has been expanded to Sumatran waters, north of Straits of Malacca, as military radar may have detected the missing plane in the vicinity of Pulau Perak.

A Berita Harian report today quoted the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) as saying the plane may have reversed course further than expected while on its way from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

Air Force chief Rodzali Daud ( left ) is quoted as saying that based on military radar readings from its station in Butterworth, MH370 may have turned west after Kota Bahru and flew past the east coast and Kedah.

"The last time the plane was detected was near Pulau Perak, in the Straits of Malacca, at 2.40am," Berita Harian quotes Rodzali as saying.

This contradicts with earlier reports that the aircraft had disappeared from radar screens 120 nautical miles off Kota Bharu and over the South China Sea, at 1.30am on March 8.

The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) had previously said the search for the Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, which is missing for the fourth day, had previously been focused around the waters between East Malaysia and Vietnam.

Hi Vel!!

This whole thing is being bungled terribly, in my opinion. The poor families are holding themselves together rather well, considering all of the cya that seems to be going on. I mean, the stolen passports not being flagged present a huge problem for Malaysia & China. We still don’t know what the close look into “two other passengers” has panned out. Then to release two photos with the same lower extremities is silly, insulting to the next of kin, and incompetent. And if this has been released with approval from the heads of this airline, this investigation is doomed like as appears to be this 777.

Ya sayin’ the Malaysians don’t appear to be very good at conducting an investigation, search-and-rescue, airport security, and, disseminating info in a timely sensitive manner?

Yeah.

I am still going with the plane was pointed towards the ocean and did a nose dive. Why?

If the plane was shot out of the sky there would be debris. If the plane was flown to Africa, 3500 miles and below radar range? Someone would have saw it and said something.

My theory. Those asylum seekers were not seeking asylum. They were part of the team that took over the plane. I am thinking the co-pilot was in on it. Pretty girls in cockpits reads like the 9/11 terrorists who were in a Massachusettes strip club in the weeks leading up to the hijacking. Pilot and possibly co-pilot were killed, others didn’t have a clue how to fly the damn thing and last thing pilot did before he died was take it off autopilot.

At that point, no one can work the radio or the controls, at 600MPH the plane is going in.

The Iranian set it up and intelligence already knows who it is.

From their last reported position to Mogadishu is 4,000 miles and 7.25 hours. Maybe a little longer to avoid Sri Lanka and stay over water.

Looks like Pulau Perak would have been on the way.

Of course, they'd have needed a full fuel load, not just a Beijing load. Perhaps a little palm-grease at KUL to arrange it?

Then what's next ... ?

"At that point, no one can work the radio or the controls, at 600MPH the plane is going in."

And hell, with 150 crying and screaming Chinese banging on your door, I'm turning the plane into the water. No terrorist hijacker could endure that for too long...

To me, the idea that you can just dismiss terrorism, as I have read some officials already have, when ANY Iranians are involved seems quite premature.

Why is it that is seems that whenever there is trouble in the world, Iranians are often close by? Hmmm.

Weird. For the terrorist conspiracy folks, that puts it on a direct course to the most radical province in Indonesia. However, the idea it could secretly land there is nutz.

Hmmm..so I guess I'm a conspiracy theorist, and nutz, because that scenario is actually quite plausible. Maybe not Indonesia, but it was definitely diverted from it's planned destination..

Sorry, I meant to indicate that the truth is looking weird enough that a conspiracy buff would be hard pressed to match it. I guess that, at the moment I’m a wacko conspiracy nut myself.

Unload the passengers, separate the men from the women and children, spread them out across the Arabian Peninsula, wait a week for the panic to build in the media or the plane to be found, and then announce your demands, profit.

Who says terror doesn’t pay?

True, that is why I had to back up (my) prior post and make clear with the word *Investigation*. Sorry, for the confusion.

“Humans screw up”

Back about 1962 an F100 shot down a B52 in New Mexico. The fighter pilot was the squadron safety officer.

In WW2, the biggest US defense item was The Bomb, right?

Nope!

It was the B-29 which delivered it.

Yes it is.

If it isn't, then why not post the great circle route?
