National GOP turns on Florida candidate
Politico ^ | 3/7/14

Posted on 03/10/2014 8:19:12 AM PDT by SoFloFreeper

Their frustration had been mounting for weeks. But by late January national Republicans had had it with David Jolly, their candidate in Tuesday’s nationally watched Florida congressional special election. The candidate had just told the state’s top political reporter that he disagreed with an ad the party was airing against his Democratic opponent — a spot paid for with the nearly $500,000 the GOP had already spent on Jolly’s behalf....

Fox had a report on this morning that showed Sink up by NINE points. Sad if true.

Republicans have described Jolly’s campaign against Democrat Alex Sink as a Keystone Cops operation, marked by inept fundraising, top advisers stationed hundreds of miles away from the district in the state capital and the poor optics of a just-divorced, 41-year-old candidate accompanied on the campaign trail by a girlfriend 14 years his junior.

Really? This is teh best the FL GOP ould come up with? Sounds like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel here.

sink’s husband ran for governor and lost. (she “changed” her last name just for the election and went back after the loss)

sink ran for governor, banking on the implication she was a male with the name “alex”. she lost.

now she is running for a congressional seat she should not have a chance of winning.

Jolly, for whom I am voting, is:
An RNC Orphan. They hate his ass and have stuck him with lame advisers. They have put about a $million into his campaign with lame-Rove-Style touchy-feely bullcrap
while the Obamaslut, who at the very least knows, or has a staffer who knows, how stupid Floridiots are, has been telling the geezers, "that Jolly will put their Social Security at risk in the Stock Market." That Jolly wants to "end Medicare and will endanger their healthcare, ... and take away African-American EBT cards and obamaphones..." Naturally the Floridiots, who seem preternaturally stupid, eat this crap up. She is a standard- issue faintly unisex Elizabeth Warren with a dyke hairdo, a Left-clone without any redeeming social value ... a Soccer Mom Global Warmer, ad inf, ad nauseam.

Meanwhile, Jolly is presentable in a country-club sort of way, but with a presently lamentable private life. He has been talking tough-conservative from time to time, but his campaign has been inept and then, there's the bimbo.

No, he ain't a good candidate. But so what. The reason it's him on the ballot is that the RNC wrote off this district from day 1. Too bad. A good candidate and a decent campaign coulda (well, mighta) taken it for the GOP. >

Pray that I am wrong. See you at the polls

“Anyone in that district able to shed light?? Florida news.”

It’s my district, but the news is hard to come by in terms of actual numbers. Polls make it seem very close. Sink had about 4x the money, and Jolly has been a horrible candidate, so it’s kind of surprising that it still seems close.

I saw in the news this morning that about 125,000 people voted early in person or by mail. I can’t imagine that too many more are planning to actually vote tomorrow, so it may be already over.

Sink will almost surely run in November, regardless of what happens tomorrow. If Jolly loses, he might get replaced by Peters, who he narrowly beat in the primary earlier this year.

I am in the district and just received my umpteenth phone call from the Alex Sink campaign. This time it was a recording of Bill Clinton making sure I knew Alex Sink would look out for my interests.

Yes, I am a seasoned citizen, so I imagine they got me through demographics. They have called me twice a day from that same number for over two weeks now.

I wonder if the frequency of these calls ... plus pulling the Clinton card on the day before the voting ... indicates that Sink is in trouble.

It's a pity that Jolly has run such a weak pitiful campaign, and that Sink has pretty much concentrated on scaring the old folks with her lies. The TV ads have been insufferable on both sides. The GOP truly is eating its own on this one.

There-you-go-Florida-ping-sitrep.

If the Florida microcosm is anything like the national macro, fuggedabout the Republic. For $ 5 more on the EBT and "free" Viagra, the present electorate would probably vote in Ceaucescu. Too many "Americans" have turned themselves into peasants.

What was the ad that the RNC ran for Jolly that he said he did not agree with?

Another old “Politico” article with no names to connect to. The Obamabot media is pulling out all the stops. They are terrified and are in full panic mode, especially after the devastating Texas primary results. Same act they pulled when Scott Walker ran for governor in Wisconsin. Scott won!!!

Forget the polls folks. Jolly is now ahead by about 5,000 votes, now that the early election votes have been counted. Get ur butts in gear...and get out and vote tomorrow for David Jolly!!! Any senior citizen that votes for Alex Sink must be either drunk, drugged or insane, because Obama/Sink are sinking Mdeicare. Open your eyes fools!!! Obama/Sink would have all us old folks kick the bucket, so they can give more freebies to the do-nothings of our society that support them!!! Wake Up!!! VOTE FOR DAVID JOLLY, tomorrow in the FL-13CD special election!!! Send Alex Sink into the sewer cesspool where she and Obama rightfully belong!!!
