Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on Friday lamented the lack of a military option for the United States in Ukraine against Russia and criticized President Obama for thinking the Cold War is over.
During a segment on MSNBC, McCain said that the Obama administration doest understand Russian President Vladimir Putin. They have been near delusional in thinking that the Cold War was over, McCain said referring to Obama officials. Maybe the president thinks the Cold War is over but Vladimir Putin doesnt and thats what this is all about.
Later in the interview, when host Andrea Mitchell asked if there is a military option for the U.S. in Ukraine, the Arizona Republican sounded despondent. Id love to tell you that there is Andrea, but frankly I do not see it, he said, adding, I wish that there were.
I do not see a military option and its tragic.

Mr. McCan’t. No, it’s tragic that you haven’t been recalled. The respect factor for you is ZERO. Are you sure the tumor hasn’t moved in to your cranium?
Why in the world would we EVER send troops to Ukraine? There is zero US interest there. Stupid stupid stupid. Let the EU and Russia deal with it. This special type of moron is the reason we are where we are.
A military foray into Ukraine would be the biggest (and maybe the last) mistake we ever made.
It is tragic that he is using oxygen better applied to humans with actual working brains.
The old coot McCain needs to be airdropped into Ukraine with a pack and a rifle.
Anyone McCain supports is a likely suspect for a history
of beheading, rape, crucifixion, or serial murders
against the Americans and/or other civilized people.
It’s tragic that there is no option to stifle Juan.
The Crimea is essentially Russian. The western side of Ukraine wants and deserves its’ freedom and identity.
We don’t need to go to war over Crimea. Let it go.
As for Europe, it’s time for them to defend themselves - with our help, rather than sitting on the sidelines and letting us do ALL the work.
Having served in Germany during the Cold War, I saw plenty of Europe sitting on its collective asses while we did all the work.
I do not think it’s very tragic
So now, issues that are just what our government is supposed to handle, are suddenly too big, to complex, for the United States to deal with.
At a time when we need visionaries to help shape the future, we get hopeless, incompetent, plainly uninterested career politicians looking to just pull an 8 to 5 and get a good pension.
Who thinks they actually pull an 8-5? Once a week maybe....
Gotta bring Putin down a notch or two. He doesn't like gays.
He’s pretty old,he’ll be self-stifling himself soon.
McCain would go to war with Narnia if it were possible.
Resurrect those powerful Saturn Vs, pack them full of libs like sardines and send off to warmth and sunshine - the sun.
So you are agreeing with McCain?
Welcome to FR, and international diplomacy is not solely based on sending troops.
Reagan knew how to apply pressure, harass, and intimidate, and make countries pay, without always depending on troops.
