SEPANG: The two impostors who travelled on the missing Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 using fake passports were captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV) at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Department of Civil Aviation director-general Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said the CCTV recordings would be used in the department’s investigations.
“We have CCTV recordings from the point of check-in right up to departure point,” Azharuddin said in a press conference here, Sunday.
Italian Luigi Maraldi, whose name is on the manifest, was not on the missing MAS flight.
According to news reports from Italy which quoted its Foreign Ministry, Luigi Maraldi’s passport was stolen last August while he was in Thailand.
Meanwhile, London’s Daily Mirror reported that a second passenger was also using a stolen passport.
Austrian Christan Kozel has been confirmed as safe and well by authorities.
He told Austrian newspaper De Standard that his passport was stolen when he visited Thailand two years ago.

Well, if they look like what we all think they do, you won’t be seeing it on non-FOX US TV. Too politically-incorrect to show.
In order to be able to use the passports, wouldn’t they have to look somewhat like the passport pictures?
The pictures could have been swapped out.

They could probably have changed the photos - at least that’s what I see on TV - but they ought to look something like that is their actual name I would think.
With the Italian this probably wouldn’t be hard - not sure about the Austrian.
Also, occurred to me that given Malaysia’s demographics they might have been able to easily pay off a border control person to get on the plane.

That’s true but whoever did get on the plane had to pass off as a Luigi I doubt an Asian would have been able to pull that one off
If one of them is named Hussein it will be a red flag.
And we now know Interpol has those passports on their ‘stolen’ list but the airline ever bothered to check
and people complain Isreal is too strict

The airlines don’t have access to Interpol’s stolen passport database. It’s available only to law enforcement, which is an ignorant policy, IMHO.
Either that or they’d have to replace the real pics with theirs and still match up as to age and sex. What I don’t understand is why stolen passports aren’t universally and instantly deactivated, just as stolen credit cards are.

To get through el al security they ask you a zillion questions, they look you up and down and if you act just a bit nervous they interrogate you..I went to Israel last year through LAX you don’t mess with el al security they are top notch
