You really don't know how the world works. I deal with illegal aliens every day in my work. Typically when they fill out a W4 form they claim a half dozen or more dependents than they actually have. They don't need to get refunds because, if they filed their taxes they would owe a ton.
to make up for this deficit, the IRS goes after Citizens.
When is the last time an illegal alien went to jail for tax evasion?
For that matter when is the last time an employer was fined for hiring illegal aliens?
We do not need comprehensive immigration reform. We need comprehensive enforcement of our existing laws.
If the government is not willing to enforce the laws on the books now, what makes you think they will enforce some new laws?
Exactly, and especially the laws about building a fence, controlling access across the border, controlling access via our coasts, and those laws about monitoring and enforcing the conditions of our visas.
The truth is that if we got effective control of illegal entry (no one will ever get perfect control), then time would take care of those already illegally in the country. They would be e-verified, or maybe even they would grow old and go on to their reward, but they wouldn't be replaced.
Those here would slowly decrease due to attrition.
That's why we don't NEED any new laws.
I spoke with a friend tonight, recently retired CEO of two very large American corporations in his day, and he was solidly on the side of the Chamber of Commerce. He said, "There are 15-20 million illegals holding down jobs in America today. If you just up and ID'd and deported those the economy would collapse." Additionally, he was absolutely certain that there are jobs that so few Americans will not do that we must have Hispanics to do them.
"If that's true," I said, "then what justification is there for having the illegal Hispanic do that job ahead of one who is trying lawfully to get into the country by waiting in line for his turn?"
