Basically we were talking about why conservatives cede to the liberals the talking points about things like the environment, treating animals in a humane way. What this does is allow the liberals to portray conservatives as people who don't care about those type of things.

Many conservatives are so afraid of being lumped in with tree-huggers and such that they fall right into that particular trap.
