They would need the launcher, the target acquisition system. Accuracy is not enhanced by shooting it off some Rube Goldberg setup. An SA-8 (non-ManPad but portable')engagement zone is up to 16k, not going to get it done.

The slick could confirm the ac went down in the vicinity, if it was a bomb at altitude and on speed, the debris field would be large indeed considering the cataclysmic shredding and the 7 mile fall, the lighter pieces floating down.
