How drab would it be to come home from work in the middle of summer to a sunset?

Does that actually happen anywhere on standard time?

Also, recall that the current imposition of "savings time" originated from Jimmy Carter's response to the Arab oil embargo of the 1970's. It was supposed to decrease oil imports, which, of course, it never did.

Previously it was imposed as "war time" to increase agricultural production. I am not sure if the crops grew faster and lusher or not. I rather doubt it.

I'm with you on this (hahaha!). Plus, I'm retired and I don't care whether it's DST or ST. Pick one and stay there.
