In reality, I doubt Putin is all that popular in Russia.
No one here would prefer to live in Russia to living here.
Actually, if it wasn’t so cold, I might prefer Russia. They don’t cave to homosexuals and allow Christianity.

Even Russian billionaires flee Russia to live away from Putin. For too long, we’ve been unwilling to recognize that Russia is once again a police state. Some misguided “conservatives” think that because Putin is fixated on fags that he’s an Orthodox Christian or something. Putin is just using that issue. If he were so devout of a Christian he could, by ukase, end abortions in Russia. He has not. He’s a threat to freedom, like Obama, but first a threat to the freedom of Russians. Next he’s a threat to Russia’s neighbors. By dredging up revanchist and chauvinistic goals he may appeal to the low information types in Russian and some dumbed down conservatives, but he’s also making the world a very dangerous place.
