The job market may have reached a turning point in February when for the first time in nearly four years more of the unemployed found jobs than dropped out of the labor force.
Last month 10.5 million people were unemployed, including 3.8 million who have been out of work for six months or more. But those numbers only count the people who are out of work and still looking for jobs.
Even though February saw more people returning to the labor force, the percent of the population working or looking for work remains near a 30-year low due to millions of dropouts during the recession.

An accurate synopsis.
Unfortunately many become wards of the state, enlist in the entitlement army, and vote for Democrats.
Sadly, one can become so depressed that logic and inner drive disappears. I’ve seen it - so use some compassion during these hellish daze...
Sounds like a good plan.
For about a decade, we have found good guys to do work on, in and around our house.
We have an informal network of neighbors and friends who find, refer and hire these guys. Many owned their own businesses or were partners and did want the constant aggravation of being a boss. They do excellent work and are easy to deal with.
If you are over 50, retire very early. Cut back lifestyle to bare bones and get rid of the expensive clutter in life.
“There arent any mojados out here-too many of us native Hispanics dont tolerate them, and that is nice.”
BOL, our yard man worked for another company. About 20 years ago, he came to me about going on his own. I suggested that he finish up getting his citizenship and then we could talk.
I wrote a letter for him, which he used in the process. After he became a citizen, I told him to go to our local bank and see the manager I had known for years to get a start up loan. I gave him a letter to use.
He did, got his loan and started to work. 4 of us in our neighborhood hired him to take care of our yards. A few friends around town got tired of the revolving door yard guys and hired our friend. They in turn recommended him to others. Now he only takes on new customers when he loses a current one due to moving, illness or loss of their job.
A couple of years later, he bought a home, and I wrote another letter to help him get the loan and several of our friends/his customers wrote letters for him.
A few year later my wife and I had a come to reality meeting with his wife. She was dragging her feet re getting her citizenship. My wife told her of women, who did the same, were sometimes not allowed back in the country after a visit to Mexico or emergency visit home. So we wrote another letter, and a year later, she became a citizen.
Now to the funny part, this amigo has a great sense of humor and is all ways upbeat and positive.
About a year ago, he was really mad and in a foul mood.
So I asked him what was wrong. He had been offered a large job and needed to hire a few guys for a few days. So he went to our local Home Depot. He talked to a few and left.
They were demanding $20+/hour plus lunch and transportation and had no work clothes or boots.
So he and some of his brothers did the job on weekends.
Now a standing joke is when we have a larger extra job, and my wife or I ask him if he is going to Home Depot to get the extra workers. After a few choice words, he stops and smiles and tell us when he and his bros will be working.
Or just take the money and run.
Thanks! OK, where’s that like button?
I just read that:
29% of adults under the age of thirty live with their parents.
We are definitely moving to a society that will have multiple generations in one home, mostly because of economics.
It’s tough to purchase a home these days without a decent job, which for young folks is a fading expectation as the Baraqqi Depression grinds on.
Theres a serious problem with training for the jobs that are available.
I'm suspicious of the claim that all these very important, high-paying jobs are going unfilled for lack of qualified applicants.
If those jobs are really needed, then the companies should train applicants to fill them. There is no reason that the taxpayers should.
Yeah, that’s it!
See post 83. I’m on my phone and can’t do fancy stuff.
