Radio Shack closing over one thousand stores, and this. Maybe Obama should pivot back to the economy, and more stores can close.

A good portion of strip malls are empty here in the Midwest. I still see plenty of empty strip mall stores as new ones are being built. Clustering of stores seems to be the new normal. The national stores want to present their own identity, so they build individual strip stores instead of converting a vacant strip mall store.

as it loses customers to mass market chains and e-retailers I order all my office supplies on line. From Staples.

"Staples Inc (SPLS), the largest U.S. office supplies retailer, forecast a fall in current-quarter sales as it loses customers to mass market chains and e-retailers"
Isn't Staples a mass market chain?

I needed a product and the store provided it without any of that. Fine. Just realize that you are financing the homosexual agenda when you shop there.

Frankly, I dont know how many of them keep their doors open. This cannot be sustained for very long; thats for certain. It will be interesting to see if our Staples stores is one on the list. There is a BB, OD, Sams, Walmart within a 1/2 mile.

"They just built too many stores."
That reminds me of Walgreens - there are three of them within 6-7 minutes of my house.

Of COURSE there are companies that don't grovel before the gay agenda. They are the smaller ones, to be sure, but in case you are uninformed, homosexuals are NOT a protected class in federal law. Some states have passed "non-discrimination" statutes, but a good share do not have these pernicious laws, my great state of Texas being one of them.
And companies do NOT have to offer insurance plans that cover "transgender" treatments, grant "marriage" benefits to homosexual couples, or impose "tolerance" to homosexuality to all employees as a condition of employment. This is all discretionary.
It sounds to me that you have fallen prey to the "matrix" that the news and entertain media have pulled over your eyes. It is not as they portray it, and we lose to the degree that we believe the lie.

“I order all my office supply via the net....
Have not walked into a office supply B&M in years...
This news is not suprising....”
Indeed. Online office supplies from places like ebay and amazon are 50% to 70% less expensive than B&M.

The economy is certainly a part of this.
But another significant part is change in the way retail selling is done.
Many of the brick and mortar stores are, as the MBA consultants term it, “over-facilitized”

All I'm saying is to be informed and make an effort to make choices that eschew the bad and support the good. We can still do that in small ways, and using your purchasing power is not at all a small way.
I sent Home Depot copies of all my Lowe's receipts to show how much business they were losing because of their support for sodomy. Don't think that they don't listen.

Is there a list of which stores are to be closed yet?
To: F15Eagle
I’ll admit, it’s a mine field out there, and only getting worse. All the more reason to be diligent in shopping wisely.

By the way, here's a link to a new organization which surveys companies for liberal biases and recommends more conservative ones.
