O’Reilly obviously has not spent any time in a hospital lately. Healthcare functions performed by MDs in the old days have been broken down into specialties performed by physicians assistants, nurse practitioners, RNs, LPNs, nurses aides, and a wide range of technical specialists with community college degrees. I hate to say it but Zeke Emmanuel’s got this this one right, it’s been going on for years.
And yet the cost of healthcare is skyrocketing and overall quality is slowly declining....observations from over 34 years in ‘the trenches’.
