CNN Opinion ^ | March 5, 2014 | Gov. Peter Shumlin,Gov. Dan Malloy

(CNN) -- Democratic governors are working every day to grow and strengthen a middle class that's been under assault from global economic forces and failed, trickle-down policies for decades. In furtherance of that mission, we will be proud to stand with President Barack Obama, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee at Central Connecticut State University this afternoon to announce actions we're taking to raise the minimum wage in our states to $10.10 an hour by 2017.

More like “No Brain.”

Reason Number Two is that its good for women. Reason Number Three — the final reason— is that its the “right thing to do.” The rest of the article is just an attack on Republicans.

If minimum wage is so great (to those who failed or never took Economics 101), then why not a $100 minimum wage?

But it also won’t be indexed to inflation(that way the Dems can resort to this every 4 years or so )

.....Yet, most folks who are paid that wage are in the “teen years”.

Pretty much advertising for more companies to leave those two states to what are called “red states”.

If minimum wage is so great, why stop at $10.10?
Why not $20, $50, $100 or the magic $480.77 = One million bucks a year for a regular 40 hour work week.

Creating even more unemployment so they can reduce more people to dependency. A very simple agenda And they’re winning with it big time too. So they keep doing it.

...we're taking to raise the minimum wage in our states to $10.10 an hour by 2017

I don't understand if hiking the wage is so an urgent imperative, why they propose to make "hard working Americans" suffer for another three years. Where is the compassion? How can anybody survive on anything less than $10.10 per hour until 2017?

Pony. I want Gov. Malloy to get me a pony! Three good reasons:

1) I want one

2)It would be good for me, and I'm a woman!!!!

3)Ponies are nice. My mom always said be nice....it's the right thing to do. Giving me a pony, therefore, is the right thing to do.

No Brainer! Duh!!!

Hmmm. ..no mention of the CBO report.

From Shumlin's website:

Internships are split into three trimesters, Fall (September through December), Spring/Legislative Session (January through May) and Summer (June through August). The number of hours per week is flexible, but is generally 15-20 hours in the Fall and Spring and 20 in Summer. The Governor’s Office Internship Program is uncompensated and is intended for persons seeking to gain academic and/or professional experience.

Tell Gov Shumlin to stop abusing the internship program and pay his workers a fair wage

Actually that is good. It means those states are going to learn a lesson on economics. It also means that for that kind of a minimum wage they will be hieing people who can actually speak English since their will be fewer jobs certain person can return to their lands of national origins. On second thought why don't we raise it to 15 dollars an hour that would show the country clubbers what can happen if they stick us with amnesty.

You have to have a Democrat mind set to believe that you’ll get more of something by making it more expensive.

Creating even more unemployment so they can reduce more people to dependency.

And just think how grateful the newly unemployed will be to have the free time to discover their life interest. There's no downside!

its the right thing to do... thats a pretty strong argument there. How they get from 7.25 to 10.10 boggles my mind. All that is going to do is kill jobs and drive up prices. Employers will hire smaller staffs and charge more for their products.

2017? That’s after both Malloy’s and Shumlin’s current terms. That’s after the next Presidential election. I’m not sure posturing comes any emptier than that.
