None of that was personal ridicule.
Those words were word of truth spoken by the Son of God, who knows the hearts and minds of all men.
He was speaking truth to their faces and at the same time calling them to repentance for the forgiveness of their sins. He was also warning them of judgement for rejecting the Anointed One, the Jewish Messian, the One sent by the God of Israel.
When Jesus began His ministry in Galilee (Luke 4) He spoke in the synagogue in Nazareth and read from Isaiah 6:1-2a and told them that the Scripture was fulfilled that day in their hearing. From that point on to the cross Jesus was fulfilling His ministry here on earth as described in that passage.
“None of that was personal ridicule.”
That was a lot harsher than saying someone wears mom jeans and is not respected - which is ALSO the truth.
