There is so much wrong with this story.

The unremorseful little turd getting away with his actions that resulted in deaths. I saw some brief footage of him and it looked to me like self-assured smugness. What a piece of garbage.

What kind of legitimate facility charges $450,000 for rehab? None. Only a money-making machine.

First thing I’d want to know is, what are the judges connections to the rehab facility. Family member, silent partner, referral kick-backs. It’s a smart bet there’s something rotten here.

There is a rehab in my county that was started by the wife of a local superior court judge. He retired and I don’t know if either of them is still living but the old connections to the courthouse are still providing a nice income for the business.

That’s a lot of $ to most of us, but $450K/year is really only @ $1200/day which is not that outrageous for a first class rehab facility. I’d bet the Betty Ford center in Palm Springs and other top of the line facilities that cater to the rich and famous all charge in that range. Most patients only stay in rehab for 1-3 months.
