how many different animals on the ark?

Two of each KIND. For example, a dog/wolf is a kind. We get our “breeds” of dogs all out of these two pari. They had all the latent genetic material to produce all the diversity we see in dogs today.

Of the clean animals, some more than two were carried.

Also, as far as large animals, I would think young, smaller ones would be best (but God gave the dimensions of the Ark large enough, so it does not matter).

RE :”How many different animals did Noah have on the ark?”

Sunday night I watched the 1966 classic ‘In the Beginning’ for 100th time or so.

After Noah builds the Ark there is a scene where he leads a bunch of animals onto the ark, and these are animals that were only discovered thousands of years later after world wide travel was invented, like the ones from Africa far South of Eygpt.

Noah didn't know of them anymore than the writers of the books of Moses did many decades later. They only knew of animals in their local areas, and those are what are listed in the two different versions of the Noah story.

While the book of Genesis doesn't mention lions and zebras and elephants (for those reasons), the movie does show them, because in 1966 the movie creators knew about them.
