State colleges have a purpose to further educate the masses. To spend money to educate through a PR campaign maybe OK, but to spend money to prevent St.Pats’s day as an excuse to get wasted by paying people to close bars and such is not OK. What benefit has been achieved for their money. Those who want to get wasted will still find a way get wasted. Teach not provoke.

Good day...

The Irish gave so much to this country. Cathedrals, churches, colleges, education tenets, more than just bad behavior and drinking

Anyone who doubts that can go to st pats cathedral in NY

It was built by the Irish lest anyone think it was built by the government or some other group who would allow it to be named after a patron saint of another country

I think it’s very wise

With 45,000 undergrads I’d imagine this scandal weary town/campus estimated it was money well spent if not an investment in preventive maintenance

Good for them

I pray for st pats intercession every week when I see his familiar statue at mass

He probably asked for and got divine intervention for this
