I absolutely refuse to watch ' the Oscars , I further will not spend a dime to see any of the movies that were nominated and won . Why ? Because all these worthless Hollywood pinheads ignored and boycotted acknowledgement for THE BEST MOVIE of the season : LONE SURVIVOR . To hell with them all , they don't get my money . Period .

A friendly word of advice...

Rather than link to such sources as indicated above, and plug the Oscars, just submit your own thread regarding the winners and include your viewpoint. Thank you.

Just saw one of the nominated movies; Gravity...

Saw the part where Sandra Bullock’s character got out of the spacesuit...don’t remember much after that...

Did not watch, not relevant no matter what. The same buffoons who made “wolf of wall street,” can be forgiven to make millions—billions—doing the same they have convicted others of doing. They take us for fools. Too bad pumpkin head did not win anything. My heart bleeds.

Only saw one of the nominees, The Wolf of Wall Street. Well, I saw 2 1/2 hours of it before turning off. What a vile, ugly, empty monstrosity of a picture.

I didn’t see any of the movies nominated..didn’t really care for any of them so could have cared less who won best picture..the only highlight of the night was seeing Matthew McConaughey thank God during his acceptance speech and hear nothing but silence from the audience..that is all I needed to know about the douche bags in the audience..nothing but liberal douches

It was boring for some reason.

Dunno

Maybe Ellen got some memo to be reserved.

I think the attendees did as well.

I could barely keep my eyes one day it was so boring.

Second it closed everybody just kinda went home.

I know I grabbed my briefcase and split.

Working on something important but, thought the.Oscars would be interesting.

Back to my rock and my two hills, like Sisyphus.

Lone Survivor was great, best action movie in years and a wonderful tribute to our troops. 12 Years a Slave good movie too, really liked it, great drama and really captures the feel of a different time, like going in time machine. Its a pity we can’t have a more fair competition at the Oscars.

Anyone else bothered that the Lupita woman weigh 80 lbs, looks east African, and in no way resembles a typical woman slave who would be strong enough to work in the fields?...and would be from west africa?

So The Hobbit didn’t win anything (waiting for all 3 to be out?), and Ender’s Game wasn’t nominated for anything.

That should be a clue to Gavin Hood to leave film.

Wish Bullock would’ve won, but overall I can’t complain. Gravity won 7 out of 10 it was nominated in and that was my favorite. I’m surprised it won over slave for director. Was a decent night for what won I thought. Haven’t seen slave yet though.

Can’t believe that Nebraska was completely shut out - it was an amazing movie.

But, to get the Oscar, ya gotta be “in the club” or in a politically correct film ...

Something that I never get with the Academy Awards. 12 Years a Slave was the best picture, but Alfonso Cuarón was the best director for Gravity. So the guy who directed the best picture wasn't the best director. Wha?

As they have for the last 30 yrs or so, the Oscars celebrated a bunch of movies that were seen by very few people - either they're political propaganda aimed at the US or they're niche films. No one will remember the name of the Best Picture winner a week from now, just as no one remembers the 2013 or 2012 winners.

Hollywood's money makers in 2014 - the films that allow the studios to indulge in money-losing vanity pictures prattling about the evils of America - will once again be escapist fare based on comic books: the '300' sequel or the summer X-Men flick. It says a great deal about Hollywood creativity that the only ideas to be found involve recycling either cliche-ridden political tracts or comic books.

It greatly upsets the Hollywoodphiles when you poo-poo their big night.

IMHO, half the people who watch the Oscars don’t care about the movies at all. They want to see the clothes. I get sick of being lectured by Hollywood for how evil I am because I am a white conservative. Why would I give money to anyone who is trying to destroy everything good this country stands for?

On our movie night last week we watched, “The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer”, in tribute to Shirley Temple. So you can guess how much money Hollywood gets from MY family.

Gadzooks! Just woke up from my night sweat, checked Ellen's Twitter and it looks like I must be... feeling somewhat better--

But why am I... belching pizza?
