There is no question that Blacks seem to dominate most sports which require speed and power. In football there are some positions which require strength rather than power. That is why you see a lot of White offensive linemen.
I do think they have gotten overboard with giving preference to Black players. I can recall when the Southeastern Conference was all White, they did perfectly well against the integrated teams of the rest of the country.
Not that Danny Woodhead is a great player. He’s pretty good. But there are a LOT of white backs like him or even better who aren’t given a chance above Division II college, which I think he was. Look up video of Peyton Hillis at Arkansas. Remarkable athleticism and very fast. Yet he was their third back. He had to bulk up so he could play fullback, and give up some speed (though he was great during the few games he got to start for Denver as a rookie and during that season with an awful Browns team). Toby Gerhart was told coming out of college that if he wasn’t white, he would be a first-round pick. And every time he’s gotten to play because of Adrian Peterson being out, he’s shown fine talent - even a 67-yard run, which doesn’t happen in the NFL unless you are fast.
