Possibly but I doubt Russia will stop with retaking just Crimea. Russia has important oil and gas pipelines in the rest of Ukraine. Also she sees that territory as important fir defense purposes. And much of her food is grown there. Plus Russia would never want to see Germany (eu) gain sway there in Russia’s underbelly. (Remember WW2. ) Right or wrong , Russia will almost certainly finish the job.
Because so much of the EU is dependent on that natural gas, anyone who inflicts serious damage on those pipelines will incur the wrath of the EU and Russia alike. Not a good place to be in.
