How are their nuclear reactors? Advanced?
Ukraine is dependant on nuclear energy, they have 15 reactors but hhese are of the Chernobyl design. After the break-up of the Soviet Union, Ukraine negotiated to repatriate nuclear warheads and missiles to Russia in return for nuclear fuel supplies. Ukraine then joined the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) as a non-nuclear weapons state. Its safeguards agreement under the NPT came into force in 1998, and in 2005 the Additional Protocol to this agreement was ratified. The IAEA inspects often after the Chernobyl accident.
