In October 2008, then-Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin warned that Putin, having been motivated by Obama's lack of response to the Russian invasion of Georgia, would proceed to invade Ukraine if then-Senator Obama was elected to the presidency.
After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next.
Foreign Policy dismissed this warning as "strange" and "far-fetched."
As we've said before, this is an extremely far-fetched scenario. And given how Russia has been able to unsettle Ukraine's pro-Western government without firing a shot, I don't see why violence would be necessary to bring Kiev to heel.
Yesterday, Russia invaded the Crimean peninsula of Ukraine and seized control of two airports.
Seems as though Palin's prediction wasn't too far-fetched after all.

Ok, Putin was not motivated by Obama weakness. Putin was motivated by his boy toy lacky who he basically appointed to be president of Ukraine, got his butt kicked out of power.
At that point Russian had to seize control of Ukraine due its strategic importance with the gas pipelines and the Black Sea access to the Mediterean Sea.

In this case, Sarah understood exactly what she was saying and why. She hardly fell into it like a Forest Gump.
Both the people of George and Ukraine will forever know that their being invaded by the Russians was due to Obama’s weakness as a world leader.

Time and time again, Palin has been proven right. All while Obama, the media, the GOP-E, and frankly, America as a whole, have gotten things gravely and dangerously wrong.

Putin is motivated by the fact that without Ukraine’s oil pipelines to Europe, Russia’s largest source of cash dries up. He has no choice but to kick asses all over Ukraine, and he’s just getting started.
