Wonder how many people remember the Alamo on March 6?
Hubby was a founding board member of Celebrate Texas and we were in the 1st parade up Congress Ave that was restarted 2000. That was when we repainted the dune buggy like a Texas Flag.
That dune buggy saw many freeps in Austin against GoreOns and the antiwar left.
WOOHOO Texans!
When will Texas SHOUT, “I’m debt free!” (h/t Dave Ramsey)

(talk about independence day/10th amendment day)
Would that be “Deuco de Marcho”?
God Bless Texas and God Bless Texans.
??
I am told, and just the other day in this forum, that Texas gained independence from Mexico, so all texans should speak spanish and ‘work’ to assimate Mexicans.
Independence? This is a typical attitude
Freedom, it’s part of the Texas spirit and our heritage. It remains to this day. God Bless Texas and those that share our spirit.
Lets celebrate with a new one.
Will they be banning Mexican flag shirts in the schools on March 2 ‘cause they might incite violence? /s
In most Texas public schools, Texas Independence Day, has been changed to ‘Texas Flag Day”. That’s how politically correct this once-great state has become since the majority of students in many districts are from Mexico, from whom Texas won its independence. That is really a shameful denial of history and the courage of early Texans who fought and died for freedom.
Texas isn’t really independent anymore, so I’d rather not.
If they reclaim their independence then I’ll celebrate.
I’ve always liked Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park.
Been there for quite a few 4th of July celebrations.
