‘Sergio Mendes and Brasil ‘66’ also did, “The Fool On The Hill”. Would you have that version?

Connie: Willy's NYC Salsa Project - Muerte, ( Death, [ A rip-off of a song originally recorded by "El Gran Combo De Puerto Rico" in the early 60s named "La Muerte". As usual, I like this version better because of the superior recording technology and the updated arrangement of today but that should not detract from the original version. The original version is a classic. ] )

I don’t (at the moment). I didn’t start prep for this showcase until Thursday. The call went out to my sources for Beatles covers and they are still coming in, so there’s a chance I’ll get some Sergio before the night is over, if my computer doesn’t crash again. (This A.M. around 4:15 there were so many files downloading that my system locked up).

The diversity of artists who have covered The Beatles is overwhelming. I realize we’re celebrating 50 years, but technically The Beatles only recorded for seven (eight at the outside) of them. The last two bands I featured (Fleetwood Mac & The Kinks) were active for most of five decades, yet The Beatles catalogue outnumbers them at least 3 to 1. When it comes to covers, it’s more like 300 to 1. The Beatles must be the most covered band in history. I know that “Yesterday” is the most recorded song of all time with “Something”, “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” and “let It Be” all in the top 10.
