The front hull armor looks like it’s about 1.5 inch thick.A guy with good nerves and an RPG would light that thing up.

It’s a mortar. Mortars are fired from defilade - they aren’t’ designed for direct combat - the armor’s for keeping counter fire frags of the crew.
