The United States needs to stop taking its "eye off the ball" on economic growth, in order to stamp out the uncertainty that's preventing investors and companies from taking risk to make money, billionaire real estate mogul Sam Zell told CNBC on Friday.
"Wealth redistribution" policies in Washington are hampering the economy, he said. "I find it difficult to believe that you can have wealth redistribution and growth at the same time."
Zell called out fellow " Squawk Box " guest James Bullard, president of the St. Louis Federal Reserve-arguing that the U.S. has accepted a level of growth that over the long term is a real problem. "I don't see any animal aspirations," Zell continued. "I think we need to refocus our efforts on growth."

More CEO’s need to speak out about this.
Unfortunately, many are cowards and go right along with what obozo says and does.
They have good reason not to speak up. The IRS, Department of Labor or Justice could be all over them or their businesses if they step too far over the line.

The vast number of tax increases imposed on corporations and individuals since Obama came in has been staggering. Income tax rates alone have probably doubled.
As we have heard many times in the last two decades, there are 2 Americas. One believes in work and growth and morality. The other believes in forced sharing and a controlled slow decay (including population and economy) and anything-goes behaviorally. They are mutually exclusive. One side has been importing voters for decades (and likely breaking rules aplenty every election cycle) to ensure their victory, and dominates the means of education and most avenues of mass communication. The other side has only a weak political party with neither the will to fight or to change. They simply want “to protect our phoney-baloney jobs here, gentlemen!” The cracks are getting deeper. The divide is going to be very very unpleasant.
Oh, all believe in morality. It’s what that morality calls for and whom that morality serves, which differs.
You won’t get blessed by exalting the devil.

A guy speaking the truth in the media today is pretty rare.
I wouldn’t refer to their code as morality, and from numerous conversations, I’d be willing to bet that the majority on that side of the fence would agree, that they would NOT want their codes of appropriate conduct to be called “morality”. They despise the term.
Even communistic systems realize they need some capitalism in order to be able to keep up what they do.
Cuba got wise to this decades ago. They now warmly invite tourists. So did China, with its robust market activity.
Oh, it is a morality. Read the dictionary definition of morality.
Sloppy terminology never furthers valid thought.

And yet he owns the Chicago Tribune, one of the biggest advocates for socialism in the Midwest.
Actually, there is no “wealth redistribution”, at least not long term. As Thatcher noted, “The provblem with socialism is you eventually run out of other people’s money.”
It reminds me of the Python skit where Dingus Moore steals from the rich and gives to the poor until the poor are rich and the rich are poor. The last scene is Dingus stopping a stage coach, getting everyone to empty their pockets and trying to even everything out only to be frustrated by an individual who does not display all his possessions.
