If you have been following Glenn since his days at Fox News, you may remember the expose he did on Obama regulatory czar Cass Sunstein and his nudge theory. One of Sunsteins more disturbing ideas involved government operatives infiltrating online communities in order to disseminate false information. As Glenn describes it, the goal was to pose, infiltrate, and discredit. Anyone who actually took Sunsteins words at face value were mocked and labeled conspiracy theorists. But, as it turns out, it was all true.
The English version of the NSA is the GCHQ The English NSA has now revealed that thats exactly what our government is doing, Glenn said on radio this morning. What Cass Sunstein proposed in a purely academic setting that was his excuse the British NSA has now verified. Thats exactly what we are doing. And so there are operatives posing as regular citizens on our web sites and in our organizations. I mean how crazy is that? Wake up, America! Wake up!
Glenn Greewald the former Guardian reporter who worked to publish the material exposed by Edward Snowden released a thorough report on his new website, FirstLook.org, dissecting the data.
Greenwald reports:
Over the last several weeks, I worked with NBC News to publish a series of articles about dirty trick tactics used by GCHQs previously secret unit, JTRIG (Joint Threat Research Intelligence Group). These were based on four classified GCHQ documents presented to the NSA and the other three partners in the English-speaking Five Eyes alliance. Today, we at the Intercept are publishing another new JTRIG document, in full, entitled The Art of Deception: Training for Online Covert Operations.
By publishing these stories one by one, our NBC reporting highlighted some of the key, discrete revelations: the monitoring of YouTube and Blogger,

Ping to post 60.
I just went and got a life and stopped patronizing certain forums.
Its a slow day in the winter thus why I lurk around.
There are alternative discussion forums.
What was popular a decade ago isn’t safe anymore.
Thanks for posting this. Handy reference.
Bookmarked for later
I’m seriously thinking about posting it as it’s own thread for more visibility
1) See post #60.
2) Look around.
Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!
To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you must threaten to report me to the Mods if I don't add you to the list...
Then there are the old tried and true...- private messages to long term posters trying to slime the blog owner.
There. That's better.
Jesus Christ: You cant impeach Him and He aint going to resign.
Its me, but I may as well be paddling a canoe up Niagara falls, this place is solidly concrete paved with wing-nuts, and I still can't incite anyone at all to meet me at the DC mall with my guillotine's!
I knew it was you all along. I have my xray specs on.
I would help, but I got a bad back.
Do it. Critical info that deserves to stand alone and shouldn’t be buried in another thread.

Go for it. It will just get lost in this thread.
DOooooooo it.........
I’ve noticed something on FR that raises my Spidey-Sense from time-to-time.
Hold on a sec, gotta find my TF hat. Okay, all better.
I will be on a thread reading through the posts and come across a post that will make me stop and say, HUH?
Sometimes, the post will take a truly divergent view from the rest of the thread, or be a full on assault of one the posters or just leave me shaking my head as to why the individual would post such a thing on FR.
In 90%+ cases, the poster has a signup date of 2000 or earlier. This has lead me to wonder for a while now if a lot of these are accounts that became dormant over time and have been hacked by people with certain agenda type issues that are looking to avoid being singled out as newbies on FR and then accorded the requisite scrutiny assigned to recent signups.
Does anyone know if FR has a policy of deleting dormant accounts? Anyone else suspect this type of behavior on FR?
Signing off now and leaving the state hopefully before FBI agents knock on my door.
Thanks, great and useful information, I recognized quite a bit of it and will spread it around.
AFAIK, dormant accounts are not deleted.
One can still ping Barbara K. Olson, and she died at the Pentagon on 9/11.

Watch out if she replies!
