The House ordered its sergeant-at-arms to “take in custody, wherever to be found, the body of Samuel Houston”.

Houston was tried and found guilty of contempt of Congress and reprimanded, despite the efforts of his lawyer, one Francis Scott Key.

I know.

He was arrest Monday April 16, convicted Friday May 11 and sentenced on Monday May 14 (reprimand).

All the while he was in the custody of the Sergeant at Arms who arrested him.
