Lawyers Argue Gay Marriage Harmful to Children
CBN ^ | February 26, 2014 | CBNNews.com

The Alliance Defending Freedom is making its case to defend traditional marriage in Oklahoma, arguing same-sex marriage is bad for children.

The Christian legal advocacy group said legalizing gay marriage would harm children, undermine society, and make traditional marriages unstable.

Lawyers representing an Oklahoma clerk who refused to grant a marriage license to a same-sex couple cited courts and anthropologists in saying children are better off in a home with a mother and a father.

They also added traditional couples would be less likely to marry, or stay together if marriage became a genderless institution not focused on procreation.

Last month, a federal judge said Oklahoma's 2004 ban on same-sex marriages was unconstitutional because the state's voters singled out one set of its residents for different treatment.

The ADF, however, said marriages should be about children, not adults.

There’s a link on here somewhere about diseases transmitted by homosexual sex which makes a good case for shoving every one of those morons back into the closet.

I see the first two points, but have never really understood (or agreed) that legalizing same-sex "marriage" would make real marriages unstable.

I agree. Not only is unnatural sex harmful to children, but it’s also harmful to the culture.

...especially in light of all those adoptive gay “fathers” doing horrid things to their “children.”

THE RATIONAL SUBLIME PURE TRUTH:

All children issue from parents.

None of the issuing pairs of parents can be same-sex.

Biologically impossible.

Ergo ALL LIFE is dependent upon opposite sex marriages or shack-ups. [10% are naturally sterile unions-from nature and God.]

NO life EVER issues from same-sex relationships.

Ergo same sex relationships are actually biologically
ANTI-LIFE

ABORTION IS ANTI-LIFE,.

ERGO SAME SEX relationships are equal to abortion.

ABORTION IS INTRINSICALLY EVIL>

ERGO SAME-SEX RELATIONSHIPS ARE INTRINSICALLY EVIL>

There is a state law in California making its way east to New York forbidding any mental health personnel from attempting to offer therapy, therapies to help clients, patients with resolving their gay issues towards a normal sexual lifestyle in having them go straight. I know that gay couples are allowed to adopt. I've seen gay parents, gay and lesbian with children of both sexes, not mentioning whether the adopted children were gay or lesbian. But it did occur to me that perhaps the state allowed straight children to being adopted by gay couples due to a shortage of parents, children who would want to adopt or be adopted.

It occurred to me that the state probably allows for gay parents to adopt straight kids, some straight kids being anxious, desperate, lonely for a family would welcome being part of a family, even if the parents were gay or lesbian.

After thinking about it, I thought it would not surprise me at all, probably a likely scenario that there was no equivalent law forbidding gay parents from coercing their adopted straight kids from taking up the gay lifestyle.

That is something I am extremely curious about, wonder how I would go about finding out about it. But have determined that there probably is no restriction on gay parents from doing just that very thing.

US Representative Michelle Bachmann was highly criticized during her campaign for being associated with a program involved with her church that sought to help troubled kids go straight while having problems with their own confused state of sexuality.

Then there is the story about David Tuterra from My Fair Wedding that seems to have gotten buried in the media. David and his “husband” got a surrogate pregnant with twins. David’s “husband” decided he was tired of David’s deviant behavior of always bringing a third man into their sex lives and wanted a divorce. The surrogate had the babies, they got their divorce and each sodomite got themselves a newborn to play with. Nope, nothing wrong with that.

Today’s courts find that just fine. Since Roe v. Wade, children have been treated as disposable property completely at the mercy of adult whims.

I was in the airport once and two lesbians were hitting a young girl that would not stop crying. I dialed 911, the police came and took all three away. The two lesbians appeared drunk and were completely nasty to the police.

traditional couples would be less likely to marry, or stay together if marriage became a genderless institution not focused on procreation.

This is a good answer to your question. Easy divorce has already wreaked havoc on the commitment necessary for strong marriages. Homosexual "marriage" will further undermine traditional marriage as unnecessary or old-fashioned.

Eh, I just don’t see the cause-and-effect there. Easy divorce, sure. But I don’t really think that the availability of same-sex/genderless “marriage” will impact the decision making processes of traditional couples. Case in point: I live in New York, and got married right around the time New York passed same-sex “marriage. I can tell you that the passage of that bill had zero impact on my decision (and my wife’s) to get married, or to stay married. I can’t see why it would, for us or anyone else.

Look, I get that same-sex “marriage” has significant harmful effects on society (children, education, etc.). I just don’t think that an impact on traditional marriages is one of them.
